June 2024
As we celebrate #volunteersweek2024 it’s our chance to thank all of our AMAZING volunteers who come to Dùn Coillich in all weathers, sharing their time, skills and sense of humour week after week!
Over the last year, we have run 75 practical volunteer days at Dùn Coillich and at the Wee Birks Field in Aberfeldy. We have welcomed over 200 volunteers to our site and between them, they have given up over 3,000 hours of their time to support our work.
Every Tuesday our regular volunteers (usually about 10 folk) help with all the practical management of Dùn Coillich. Over recent weeks this has involved removing some redundant internal fences, improving the paths around the carpark to make the site more accessible to a wider range of people, helping to look after some of our newly planted trees and maintaining our fences.
We also run a monthly volunteer day on the last Sunday of every month as well as hosting one-off events for specific groups and local businesses. Our volunteers also help with the delivery of our education outreach work with local schools and cub/scout groups, our Rural Skills Training Programme and with the delivery of our public events.
THANK YOU to everyone that has got involved over the last year, you really are appreciated!
New faces are always welcome – visit our volunteering page to find out more.
