and give them a chance to learn practical skills together.
We run educational visits and hands-on experiences for 300+ young people every year, welcoming schools as well as youth groups and catering for all ages, skill sets and backgrounds.
Rural Skills pupils from Breadalbane Academy and Junior Rangers from Pitlochry High visit us regularly. Some bring their parents back at weekends, for community events or our guided walks so they can proudly show them the work they’ve done.
They are leaving their own legacy too – S1 pupils from our local area get the chance to spend a day planting trees with us, meaning they’ll see the landscape evolve as they grow into adulthood alongside the trees. Through this initiative alone, over 5,000 trees have been planted on Dùn Coillich.
We also host visits from local primary schools and scout, beaver and cub groups, with their work ranging from building nest boxes to creating incredible insect hotels!
“It’s about making a positive, lasting difference to the Scottish landscape that they can return to, in the future, with their children and children’s children and enjoy seeing the lasting change.”
